District 1 Alternate
Susanna Marshland is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a long-time resident of District 1. A parent of sons who are now young adults, she worked as a parenting instructor for Kaiser and developed and delivered programs for families with young children at another Bay Area nonprofit. She has served on the Executive Committee for the Human Services Alliance of Contra Costa County, the Executive Committee of the Foster Youth Alliance in Alameda County, and the Consolidated Planning and Advisory Workgroup for Contra Costa Behavioral Health. For the past two decades at Fred Finch Youth & Family Services, she administered a wide variety of mental health, social services, and housing programs for diverse youth and families in several Bay Area counties, including Contra Costa. She continues to consult and volunteer with various local nonprofits, utilizing her expertise in culturally responsive, evidence-based, community-informed practices to strengthen families and communities.
